Archiology

Virtual, archiology.net 2023

I founded Archiology, a loosely organised heritage and design collective exploring new and unconventional technologies for capturing, analysing, and communicating architectural information. This research informs the development of tools and systems that can be applied to architectural practice. Guided by a considered design approach, the collective brings together architecture, digital development, material forensics, and industrial design to explore new ways of engaging with the built environment.

To reflect this experimental approach, I developed the website using an advanced physics-based particle system, integrating the company’s gradient logo into the simulation. The use of particles also connects to Archiology’s engagement with heritage and architecture, both of which are concerned with ideas of connection, accumulation, and the construction of larger systems from many smaller parts.
